We're Closing the Doors on Food Blogger Pro!

Closing registration for Food Blogger Pro until Spring 2016!

Friends! Bloggers! We have an important piece of news to share with you today.

Food Blogger Pro will be closing registration on November 19th.

As a little background for those of you who are all WHAAAS GOING ON 😮, here's the short story.

Food Blogger Pro is a learning community that Bjork and I created two and half years ago as a way to provide valuable teaching and networking opportunities to individuals in the food blogging community. Today our FBP tribe (FBP meaning Food Blogger Pro - I'm going to go acronym-heavy on you from here on out) is made up of more than 1,000 food blogging members and it's powered by a small team *shout out to Beth, Raquel, and Jasmine* who help make the resource magic happen. Both Bjork and I are so excited about what Food Blogger Pro has become and where it's headed.

And speaking of where it's headed.

The reason for this post today is that big change that I mentioned: we are changing our enrollment structure in a way that will have significant implications for any current or future members.

As of November 19th at 11:59pm CST, Food Blogger Pro will be closed for new member registration.

Which means RIGHT NOW that we are in the last public enrollment phase until Spring 2016.

Which means that now's your time.

If food blogging is (or could be!) your jam, 👇 let's do dis.

Food Blogger Pro is a place where busy food bloggers can efficiently connect and learn how to take their food blogs to the next level.

Like how short I kept that explanation? You have no idea how many times I've edited that one single sentence. Signed, the girl who loves words.

There are 300+ videos (3-5 minutes each) categorized into topics and courses.

Members have access to live events, interaction during the events (chat, Q&A, etc.) and the ability to review recordings once they are complete.

(Sometimes Sage makes a cameo. Worth it.)

I can't exactly show you this in detail because then I'd be giving the world all of our discount codes 👀 but members also get access to exclusive Food Blogger Pro discounts for tools and services that we use and love, like Erickson Wood Works (photography backgrounds) or TextExpander (a favorite email tool that Bjork and I use religiously) to name a few.

This is a copy-and-paste tool that gives you a downloadable nutrition label for your recipes. Boom! Easy as pie. I use this in every Skillful Cook recipe post.

One of the things we hear most often from members is how much they love the community forum. This is a place to connect with other bloggers and get quick answers to your specific questions.

What if I haven't started a food blog yet?

We actually have a full course dedicated to our members who want to start a food blog but haven't gotten up and running yet. It's called “Getting Started” - and it includes over 40 short and easy-to-understand lessons that will walk you through the things you need to know about food blogging.

What if my blog isn't about food?

Obviously, based on the name of the community, we keep the content really tightly geared towards food bloggers. That being said, 10-15% of members have a blog that's not focused on food. While the concepts are taught from (and to) a food bloggers perspective, many can be applied to other genres and niches.

What if I want to join in December? or January? or some other time?

That's where things get tricky. Enrollment to Food Blogger Pro is not going to be open after November 19th. This is our last public enrollment until Spring 2016.

What if I only want a month or two of membership?

Not a problem. There is no contract, no minimum length of membership, no nothing for members who sign up right now. You can cancel at any time.
✖️Food Blogger Pro is NOT for you if you:

  1. Have lots of time to research solutions to your blogging challenges;
  2. Are confident in your game plan for building traffic and income;
  3. Are already connected with a supportive group of bloggers.

✔️Food Blogger Pro IS the right fit if you:

  1. Feel alone and unsure of how to get connected in the food blogging community;
  2. Are frustrated with your traffic and income;
  3. Need a time-saving solution for getting answers to your blogging questions.

With Food Blogger Pro, we will tackle these problems head-on.

You'll easily get connected, make a plan for increasing your traffic and income, and save time by getting the answers you need all in one place.

Tieghan from Half Baked Harvest:

Food Blogger Pro is a great tool for ANY blogger, whether you’re in the development stages or are looking to step things up. Food Blogger Pro will help you avoid timely, and potentially costly, mistakes by providing tips that have already been tested. I wish FBP had been around when I started my site; it would have made things SO much easier! Even so, I have gone back over some of the “getting started” tutorials and made very useful adjustments. Every section has valuable info that I have used to make my site run more effectively. I am STILL getting through all the tutorials, from helpful plugins to more effective SEO to photography tips to increasing revenue. I highly recommend Food Blogger Pro!

Dustin from A Sweet Pea Chef:

Lacey and I will cross our first $10k month in September. We are so amped to make more than my wife used to make in her job. Plus having a place to share this with and have people understand all the hard work that goes into getting there is super cool so thanks again Bjork and Lindsay. It was actually seeing how far you guys had progressed that made us give this a try again so it probably wouldn’t have happened if you hadn’t created Food Blogger Pro.

Beth from Budget Bytes:

After seeing your income report for April, I decided to get off my butt and actually put some effort into SEO and monetization. I set a goal to double my blog revenue within three months and, with the info provided by Food Blogger Pro, I was able to accomplish that goal in under 30 days! My revenue was already fairly large, so this was no small feat. This website and all of the easy to follow information is beyond valuable. Quitting my day job, paying off my student loans, and buying a house are now all realities of the very near future. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Alright, that's a wrap!

Click here if you'd like to get more information about how to secure your spot.

Remember - this is our LAST CHANCE for public enrollment until Spring 2016.

I'll see you there! 👋

I’ll just throw in my two cents for anyone who is still on the fence about joining and say that my one complaint about FBP is that I DIDN’T JOIN SOONER! Oh the time I could have saved had I had access to all of these fantastic resources rather than spending hours and hours researching on my own! The videos and recommendations on artificial lighting were super helpful and I love the Instagram and Pinterest courses! I also found a great virtual assistant using the forums and got answers to obscure blogging questions in a matter of seconds from people who had already encountered and shared solutions to technical problems I was running into, saving me tons of time and frustration! I look forward to Bjork’s monthly behind the scenes exclusive videos and have already implemented a lot of his tips with great success! I can’t say enough about how much I love and value FBP! It’s hands down one of the best food blogging resources out there – whether your a newbie or a full time blogger like myself! Join while you still can – you won’t regret it!

      Hi Liz,

We’re changing our format to only having enrollment for new members two times per year so that for the remainder of the year we can really focus on helping our members grow their blogs. We think it’ll be a win-win situation for all of us!

If you have any other questions feel free to email me at [email protected] or use the chat feature on the FBP website.

I went from wanting to blog so bad but not knowing how and simply having my existing blog just “sit there”, to doing 10 times more on my site than I had ever thought I would, and its only been a couple months. Since I’ve joined FBP I’ve made substantial improvements to my blog, my recipes, my photos, and much much more. Worth every single penny. No regrets.

    Hi Lindsay and Bjork !
First of all thanks so much again for these wonderful videos. I am on and off with my subscription for food blogger pro. It looks I can no longer do it. I understand from this post this I need to activate my membership this month, and if I cancel it later (for example in January 2016), I can never come back!! right???

    1. Skillful Cook Logo

Hi Rachida! You can certainly come back, but not until we have another open enrollment session. The next one will be in Spring 2016, so if you don’t want to wait until then make sure to reactivate now!

  4. Skillful Cook Logo

Congratulations!! While FBP isn’t quite for me, I am so happy that you guys have hit a level of enrollment where you get to work on the next step, enjoy!!

  5. Skillful Cook Logo

For those of you that aren’t exclusively food bloggers, FBP is still amazing! I signed up months ago, and have learned so much. I’ve been blogging for a little over 4 years now, and FBP has really helped me step up my game and photography! Totally worth it!

  6. Skillful Cook Logo

I’m still thinking of restarting my blog… before, I had no idea what I was doing. How relevant will the information be for a Canadian? Thanks, Joanne

    1. Skillful Cook Logo

Hi Joanne! We have members from all over the world on Food Blogger Pro! 🙂 We’d love to have you, too! Actually Jasmine – one of our team members – lives in Canada as well. Represent!

    2. Skillful Cook Logo

      Hi Joanne,

It is true, I live in Vancouver! I joined FBP before I started my food blog and it really was the best investment. The information and resources are pretty universal.

There are some differences in the way the US and Canada handle things like giveaways, taxes, business licenses, email marketing…but those are things you want to research through the governing bodies anyway. However, the community is a really good starting place for research and asking questions.

The community on the site has a strong International contingent, so it isn’t totally US-centred. I find that the biggest divide is not location but language. If you blog in French/Quebec you may find that you need to dig a bit deeper into Provincial guidelines.

Overall, you will find the information relevant. I know I do!

  7. Skillful Cook Logo

Joanne poses a great question – I’m Canadian too!! How relevant will all the info be to Canadian bloggers, does it matter?

    1. Skillful Cook Logo

Bonnie, I live in Canada, and while I am not a FBP member, I find that most of what applies to/works in the USA applies to us as well. For example, we can typically join the same ad networks and affiliate programs and do business with the same companies as if we lived in America. The internet has made business and blogging a lot more of a global thing vs. restricted to any one country. Being next door neighbors to America is helpful too 🙂 I read the FBP blog and listen to the podcasts and it’s full of useful info that is highly relevant to me.

  8. Skillful Cook Logo

I have been thinking about starting a food blog for a few years. I’m a full time teacher and mom. I’m worried that I won’t have enough time to make the membership worth it right now. Would this be a big undertaking that I should wait on?

  9. Skillful Cook Logo

    Hi Lindsay!

I love what you and your husband are doing – you have a successful blog and yet you are sharing and teaching everything you know and have learned. How wonderful! I can see why you have had success 🙂

I have a lot in common with you actually – I also used to teach school – I have a multiple subject teaching credential (and a follower of Jesus!) I have evolved into becoming a Health coach for kids and teens. I currently do consulting work for Kurbo Health (www.kurbo.com). I coach for them and I also help with some content writing.

Since working for Kurbo I have not put in much time on my personal blog Funkitch. My interests and skills have also evolved to where I know am wanting to start a new blog which is more healthy food recipe focussed. I am deciding on a new domain name and will be setting up the new blog soon. That is where I am in my journey and so I feel that joining Food Blogger Pro is super timely for me! I can enter the community forums and bug everyone there to help me decide on my new domain name instead of bugging all my friends and family!!

My one question is can I stop at any time when I am up and running? Is it a recurring monthly membership?

    thank you!!

I am in the beginning stages of starting a food and fitness blog and am so sad I didn’t find this site until today (Nov. 22nd)! I’ll be eagerly awaiting the return of FPB enrollment in Spring 2016 though:)

  11. Skillful Cook Logo

The finest is this. You are top-notch. It’s great to hear how FBP has enabled you to accomplish such amazing feats. I appreciate the spontaneous recommendation, Mellissa.
